Announcement and Call for Abstracts/Papers Sponsored by the International Research Center for Animal Environment and Welfare (IRCAEW, http://www.ircaew.org/), the Asian Conference on Precision Livestock Farming 2020 (ACPLF) will be held from the 19th to 21th of October, 2020 in Beijing, China. Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) aims to achieve smart animal farming by using real-time sensing, data analysis, information technology, and decision-making to improve animal health, welfare and production efficiency. PLF supplements the skills of farmers, veterinarians and inspectors by continuous and automated collection and analysis of livestock information. As such it plays a crucial role in providing early detection or warning of diseases as well as objectively assesses animal welfare in modern livestock production. The ACPLF 2020 will bring together worldwide experts in PLF, provide opportunities to researchers and professionals to build connections and share insight into the most recent research findings and industrial needs in PLF at global level. This announcement serves as the first call for abstracts/papers for the event.
Dates: October 19th-21th, 2020 October 19th, Monday Onsite Registration October 20th, Tuesday Morning: Opening Ceremony, General Session with invited speakers Afternoon: Concurrent technical sessions October 21th, Wednesday Morning: General session with invited speakers Afternoon: Concurrent technical sessions
Theme Areas: The following topics are of particular interest to the symposium. The topics apply to all animal species (swine, poultry, dairy cattle, aquaculture, sheep, and so on) at all production stages (i.e., from incubator to growth/production, to abattoir). Automated identification and monitoring/tracking of individual animals in group housing, such as feeding behavior, locomotion, aggression, mortality Computational algorithms or techniques used to process big data on behavioral and physiological responses Low-cost sensors and sensing techniques for automatic quantification of individual animal behaviors, physiological variables, and health/well-being status Novel methods to automatically detect/monitor/improve critical moments of the production cycles, such as hatching, farrowing, accidental crushing of piglets by sow On-farm demonstration of PLF or electronic stockmanship applications Quantification of individual animal variations in behavioral, physiological, and/or performance responses to environmental stimuli Real-time modeling of animal responses and decision-making based on behavioral and physiological sensing of the animals
